Who I Am

Hi, I'm Sparkle. Welcome to my tiny little corner of the interwebs.

I'm a 25 year old wife, pet mother, former accountant, runner and martial artist.

I've been married since February 17, 2012 to my best friend and I could not be happier with my dear husband. He is the sweetest man who encourages me and made me realize that I should be a former accountant and not a practicing accountant.

I have two pets. My princess is Jade. She is a calico cat who loves windows, boxes, and saucers of milk. She is a talker and has various conversations with the dear husband and myself.
Princess claimed her spot.

Loki is my good child, and has been with me since he was a tiny puppy. His favorite thing in the world is walk, shortly followed by tummy scratch.
The boy child and your friendly blogger.

I graduated college in 2010 and went right to work as a staff accountant for a large regional accounting firm doing audits for local governments. After almost two years there, they were kind enough to fire me. I say kind enough because I truly hated going to work. I could go into depth, and might at some point, but suffice to say, it sucked there. Shortly after, I started working for small local accounting firm. It didn't suck too bad. There were days I liked working there, and I loved my clients. But honestly, accounting is not for me. Therefore, I am a stay at home wife looking for a job at our new duty station.

Oh yeah, we're a military family.

Running has been in my life since high school. I ran cross country in high school and was captain for three years. I was never good by any means, but I worked really hard and put up respectable times. I gave up on running for MMA in college and fought between injuries. It was only after I was pardoned from accounting hell that I started running again. I had the pleasure of assisting with my former team and caught the running bug again. My glorious return to the running world was derailed by a motorcycle accident in which I broke my foot. Several months and one very long move later, I am back to running and looking towards a 5K next month. My times are not good by any means, but running makes me happy again.

The only thing that has been in my life longer than running is martial arts. It's actually where I met my husband, about 17 years ago when we were little kids. Our families were a part of a small karate class at a local gym for about 10 years. He left for football around middle school, and while I did attempt to play middle school football (I was not a girly girl), I always stayed true to martial arts. That class closed shortly after we all got our black belts. I took a couple years off before I found a new instructor and style. I received a black belt and second degree black belt in that style. I taught until I moved for college and then picked up MMA. After I played with that during my wild college years, I came back home and started Japanese Ju Jitsu. I received my black belt in that style in February of 2013. My latest style is Tae Kwon Do, in which I am a red belt.

Can you tell it's kinda important to my life?

That's the short story. If anyone actually reads this I'll gladly answer any questions.

TTYL!
